Return of the Spring

I wanted to make this picture as to celebrate festival of Imbolc.

The inspiration for this work was for me the one version of the myth about queen of winter – Cailleach. It says that on the day of Imbolc she travels to the heart of the wild forest where small spring of clearest water has it source. There, on this winter day she baths herself in the little brook and the freezing water returns her youth as she turns into Bride/Brigid, the spring.
I once read similar story about (discussed) Slavic goddesses, if I remember right, Marzanna and Dziewanna.

On the oppose side of the Wheel of the Year there is the Autumn time.
For me Airmid the Healer ([link]) is somewhat the representation of the beginning of the Autumn, or the end of the Summer, of time between Lughnasadh and Alban Elfed/Autumn Equinox, that's why when I was creating the Return of the Spring I wanted to make pose of Brid to be similar to the one of Airmid, to show their same, but in oppose way. ^^
